PCM-led multisectoral meeting sets phased funding and a fuel-supply mechanism from Brazil

In a meeting convened by the Office of the Prime Minister, with participation from the MTC (Deputy Transport Minister Juan Haro), the Finance Ministry, the Foreign Ministry, CORPAC, Electro Ucayali, FECONAPU and the Regional Government of Ucayali, the parties agreed to sign a land-handover record and a cooperation agreement that will allow GORE Ucayali to carry out immediate maintenance work on the Puerto Esperanza runway for approximately 300,000 soles (about USD 81,000), enabling Spartan aircraft to land and transport materials for a subsequent intervention estimated at 10 million soles (about USD 2.7 million). CORPAC is also evaluating an integral IOARR project valued at approximately 160 million soles (about USD 43 million) for full pavement rehabilitation. The Foreign Ministry reported that the Brazilian government, through Itamaraty, expressed willingness to support fuel supply from Brazil so that Electro Ucayali can guarantee electrical service in the province.
